Indian offers were lower later the close by on Wednesday as setbacks in the metals, public region associations, and impact regions drove stocks lower.
At the nearby on the NSE, the Nifty 50 was down 0.11 percent while the BSE Sensex 30 record was down 0.16 percent.
Among the best performers on the Nifty 50 was Eicher Motors Ltd, which rose 3.30 percent or 81.85 points to trade at 2562.25 points at the close. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd gained 2.91% or 23.70 points to close at 838.80 points while Bajaj Auto Ltd gained 2.72% or 86.45 points to close at 3262.50 points in late trade.
ITC Ltd was the worst performer, falling 1.50% or 3.30 points to close at 216.75 points in late trade. State Bank Of India fell 1.47% or 6.80 points to close at 454.40 and Coal India Ltd fell 1.41% or 2.10 points to 146.75.
The top gainers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd, up 2.86% at 838.30, IndusInd Bank Ltd, up 1.99% at 869.65, and Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd, up 1.66% at 4822.00.
The worst performers were State Bank of India, down 1.45% to 454.25 in late trade, ITC Ltd, down 1.43% to close at 216.80, and Tech Mahindra Ltd, down 1.09% to 1786.65 at the close.
On the Indian National Stock Exchange, rising stocks outweighed falling ones with 982 to 807, and 29 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2001 stocks rose while 1274 fell and 92 ended unchanged.
India's VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, fell 1.41% to 16.2425.
Gold futures for February delivery fell 0.78%, or 14.10, to $1,796.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude oil for February delivery fell 0.08%, or 0.06, to $75.92 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.15%, or 0.12, to $78.79 a barrel.
USD/INR rose 0.02% to 74.716, while EUR/INR fell 0.16% to 84.3395.
