Title: India stocks lower at close of trade; Nifty 50 down 0.03%

Indian offers were lower after the nearby on Friday as misfortunes in the buyer durables, banking, and innovation areas drove stocks lower.


At the nearby on the NSE, the Nifty 50 was down 0.03%, while the BSE Sensex 30 record was down 0.03%.


Asian Paints Ltd was the best performer on the Nifty 50, gaining 3.29%, or 104.45 points, to close at 3283.15. Meanwhile, Grasim Industries Ltd gained 1.54%, or 26.45 points, to close at 1749.20, while the State Bank of India gained 1.24%, or 6.05 points, to 494.70 in late trade.


Divi's Laboratories Ltd was the worst performer, falling 1.54 percent, or 70.50 points, to close at 4506.45 in late trade. Titan Company Ltd fell 1.42%, or 33.80 points, to close at 2339.35 and Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd fell 1.17%, or 33.30 points, to 2808.75.


Top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 included Asian Paints Ltd., which rose 3.25 percent to 3281.90 points, State Bank of India, which rose 1.25 percent to 494.70 points, and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., which rose 1.02 percent to 859.70 points.


At the close, Titan Company Ltd was the worst performer, falling 1.39% to 2340.45 in late trade. Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd lost 1.12% to close at 2808.95 and AXIS Bank Ltd lost 0.92% to 687.65 at the close.


On the Indian National Stock Exchange, gains outweighed losses with 1117 to 657 and 38 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2046 shares rose while 1134 declined while 119 ended unchanged.


India's VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, fell 3.27% to 16.0600.
